As part of our expanding Software & Algorithms team, you will be responsible for developing Shark’s next generation of connected robots.  We seek passionate innovators and problem solvers, who will define our software architecture, while identifying new technologies for our ambitious product roadmap.  This role will focus on designing and developing innovative robotic and vision algorithms in C/C++, including embedded solutions for vision and navigation.  Join our growing Global Robot Team as we surge forward to become the market leader in Consumer Robotics.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop robotic control algorithms, internally and with development partners

  • Review robot behavior for debugging and drive improvements

  • Understand sensors to see new possibilities for robot actions and implement those possibilities

  • Work closely with embedded teams to make sure designs are properly documented, implemented and proven.

  • Understanding of core robotics concepts
     

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • 2+ years of professional experience using C/C++ in the full software development lifecycle (including building, and maintaining, software features) for vision systems design and development in robotics.

  • 2+ years experience implementing embedded software for ARM platforms in sensor integration systems

  • 2+ years experience using Django, Python, to develop web applications.

  • 2+ years of professional experience developing calibration algorithms for camera and camera-based systems; as well as experience validating complex robotics systems (including hardware, mechanical and electrical robot components)

  • Knowledge of and experience in using behavior-based control, navigation, obstacle avoidance, SLAM, V-SLAM and control systems is highly preferred.
