We are smart and creative, and we work at the forefront of collaborative robotics. Innovation, courage and a profound sense of urgency are at the core of our DNA. We work both smart and hard to get things done. We are changing the World. We are Universal Robots!

We are currently doing a major revision of our software platform, and right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a talented Embedded Linux engineer. This is a position of great technical influence and with room to experiment, so read on if you want to join our journey.

Working in the software platform team

The software platform team is responsible for developing and maintaining the software foundation beneath our products’ applications. This includes a Linux based operating system, a handful of tools running on this OS, and of course a setup for continues integration and quality assurance in general. Additionally, the responsibility for the security of our products belongs to the software platform team extending beyond the software platform itself.

You must be a passionate engineer, open-minded, and willing to both learn from others and pass on own learnings. You will be in a specialist’s position working mainly with the how aspect of engineering and less with the what/why. You have the ability to take a task and see it through working your own way around obstacles as they appear. Additionally, the following qualifications are required:

  • You are an adept and experienced programmer as we want the scripting and the applications, we do to be cleanly implemented and well designed,
  • you have a deep technical understanding of modern Linux based operating systems and previous experience developing such systems using Yocto, Python and Docker, and
  • you understand basic security concepts and have a demonstrated ability applying these to the engineering you do.
