You will be part of the EE design team in Advanced Hardware Engineering and working closely with the circuit design engineers throughout the design cycle of the in-house developed electronics for Zoox’s robots. Your focus will span from defining test plans, designing and running board level signal and power integrity tests for validating the electric design and its margins to feeding the learnings and improvements back into the design. You will use internal and external standards to define appropriate test thresholds and track as well as drive test coverage. You will also be involved in root causing board failures, sometimes leading you deep into the vehicle architecture.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Hardware Engineering Manager

Systems Engineer

As a systems engineer in Advanced Hardware Engineering (AHE), you will be responsible for developing and documenting component requirements for sensor, computer, and control modules. You will interface with departments across Zoox to develop a system level understanding of how the AHE hardware will enable critical operational functions. You will work closely with design, analysis, manufacturing, and test engineers to ensure that requirements are verified throughout the engineering development process. Your assessments will be critical to meet milestones as we develop new generations of hardware.

Embedded Software Tooling Engineer

Embedded Software Tooling Engineer
As an embedded software tooling engineer you will be responsible for developing tools and functionality to exercise our hardware’s full capability. This role will focus on low level (C/C++) programming to implement test specific embedded software functionality. In addition, you will be involved in a variety of coding at all levels of the software stack, including drivers, middleware, libraries, and applications. You will often be the first person to bring up custom hardware and integrating it with the Zoox software stack.

You will need to work closely with other embedded software tooling engineers to develop development software, as well as mechanical/electrical/sensor engineers to plan and execute testing. This involves both writing code running ‘bare-metal’ as well as code running on Linux. We are looking for someone who’s enthusiastic, innovative, a self-starter, and willing to take on challenges to work with us as an exceptional embedded software engineer.
