Embedded Drone & Robotics Algorithm Engineer

We are currently seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with algorithm implementation experience to join FLIR UIS team. This position will report to the Program Director. The right candidate will be extremely detail oriented, possess strong business acumen and exceptional communication skills.

The Embedded Drone & Robotics Algorithm Engineer will focus on the design and implementation of algorithms on embedded systems for small unmanned aircraft. Additionally, as a member of the engineering team, you will work on a variety of software projects that span multiple software architectures and hardware platforms that are interconnected, including ARM Cortex M0, Nvidia TX2, TI MCU, and embedded Linux. This position will require the ability to come up with new algorithms and implement existing algorithms associated with drone flight, gimballed payload operations, and computer vision.

You will work closely with a small, highly productive development team located in Orem, Utah. As part of a small team you will work on a wide range of tasks which will vary from project to project. The ability to work closely with a team, adapt to new tasks, and learn quickly is highly valued. We will consider applicants ranging from recent college graduates to experienced professionals.

Hardware System Test Architect

Autonomous Driving System Software Engineer

Your responsibilities:

Specification, definition of requirements and documentation of drivers and sensor interfaces together with the system and requirements engineers.
Development of safety critical software to read from and configure Lidar, Radar, Cameras, GPS and IMU sensors supporting Linux/QNX or Autosar.
Development of supervision, data verification and system status verification software components for Linux/QNX or Autosar.
Adaptation and performance optimization of software components for DriveCoreTMCompute.
Analysis and verification of drivers and target packages to ensure the required functionality.
Modification, extension and development of software tools for visualization, logging and analyzing of target system memory, CPU and stack usage.

Autonomous Driving Simulation Engineer

Your responsibilities:

Creation of the ADAS system simulation based on different environments and tools like Matlab/Simulink, Carla, Vires VTD, CarMaker, AirSim, etc.
Maintenance, upgrade and migration of the ADAS system simulation to different environments and frameworks like ROS and ROS/Runtime.
Creation of customer specific variants of the system simulation.
Specification and Documentation of ADAS simulation environment.
Implementation of functionalities to use log data instead of simulation data as model’s input.
Cooperation with the ADAS teams to integrate their sub modules into the overall simulation environment and to provide them the best fitting customized simulation environment.
