Robotics Intern

As a robotics intern, you will research, develop, and implement to extend our core algorithm, software, and hardware technologies while supporting our critical milestones. You will be part of an early-stage company and will have an opportunity to impact the direction of the company. There will be opportunities to support field testing, work with customers and investors, as well receiving mentoring from the team members.

Mechanical Design Engineer

What You’ll Do

Conceive, design, test and oversee manufacturing introduction of key battery components and assemblies
Create formal documentation of 2D and 3D designs of components and assemblies
Develop and fabricate functional prototypes and test methods to vet out new concepts
Collaborate closely with suppliers to bring parts and assemblies into production
Complete design cycles from concepts to fully validated production designs

Sr. Autonomy Engineer

The Autonomy Research Division was formed to address a growing research area at Aurora. Specifically, ARD applies select disciplines to the development of advanced autonomous systems, supporting levels of autonomy ranging from unmanned aircraft to optionally-piloted aircraft and human-automation teaming within the flight deck.

We are seeking experts and explorers in the areas of perception and sensor fusion, machine learning, human-collaborative engineering, big data, deep learning, novel algorithm development for breakthrough autonomy, mathematics, GPU computing, embedded systems, adaptive control, flight control and trajectory planning, modeling and simulation, and related fields. Cross-disciplinary interests are highly sought and unique initiatives are encouraged.

Staff Mechanical Engineer

Experimental Engineer

Seegrid currently has an opening for an Experimental Engineer. As an Experimental Engineer at Seegrid, you will be an integral part of or research and development group, which is tasked with both long-range speculative research and risk mitigation for shorter-term projects that involve significant uncertainty. This role will support multiple experimental teams by providing data collection, experimental design, and hardware prototyping support as needed. The successful candidate will have either an electrical or mechanical background, enjoy working independently, and be comfortable with rapidly varying responsibilities. In addition to full time positions, Roam is always interested in discussing internships in the major disciplines in our company. These include Biomechanics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Controls Engineering. However, due to the investment in time we make in our interns, we only consider placements that last for 6-12 months. To succeed in this position, you must be highly motivated to learn new skills and be able to demonstrate success and a history in taking pride in your work. As a member of a small team, you must demonstrate strong communication skills and an ability to guide the work at times when required. Mechanical Engineer – Design

This is a full time position working at the Roam facility in San Francisco. You will work with our mechanical engineering team to design and manufacture our second generation product platforms. This position is perfect for someone looking to have a significant impact on this emerging technology as we design, develop, and produce the next generation of wearable robots. Some of the specific responsibilities include:

Contribute to the design and build of our second generation exoskeleton devices

Perform engineering analysis of the system components to maximize performance

Experimentally validate system design components based on user interaction testing

Mechanical Engineer – Actuators

This is a full time position working at the Roam facility in San Francisco. You will work with our mechanical engineering team to design and manufacture the next generation of our novel actuator technologies. Some of the specific responsibilities include:

Contribute to the design and prototyping of our second generation of fabric actuators

Perform detailed engineering analysis of various geometry variations of the compliant actuators and pioneer novel methods for mass manufacture
