Mechanical Engineer

This position will support the development of new products and systems within the FLIR Optical Components Group (OCG) in Charlotte, NC. They will support lens design activities by creating models/drawings of mechanical components for lens assemblies. They will also support project management activities related to new products and innovation initiatives. They will support the development of new metrology/test systems through fixture design, programming, and system configuration. Finally, they will support new and existing metrology/test processes to support product development at FLIR-OCG.

Embedded Drone & Robotics Algorithm Engineer

We are currently seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with algorithm implementation experience to join FLIR UIS team. This position will report to the Program Director. The right candidate will be extremely detail oriented, possess strong business acumen and exceptional communication skills.

The Embedded Drone & Robotics Algorithm Engineer will focus on the design and implementation of algorithms on embedded systems for small unmanned aircraft. Additionally, as a member of the engineering team, you will work on a variety of software projects that span multiple software architectures and hardware platforms that are interconnected, including ARM Cortex M0, Nvidia TX2, TI MCU, and embedded Linux. This position will require the ability to come up with new algorithms and implement existing algorithms associated with drone flight, gimballed payload operations, and computer vision.

You will work closely with a small, highly productive development team located in Orem, Utah. As part of a small team you will work on a wide range of tasks which will vary from project to project. The ability to work closely with a team, adapt to new tasks, and learn quickly is highly valued. We will consider applicants ranging from recent college graduates to experienced professionals.

Quality Engineer II (Robotics)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Coordinates design review meetings to review all quality aspects of new products. Interfaces with Product Development Engineers to ensure quality considerations during the concept stage.
Develops various inspection techniques and procedures to ensure product integrity to design specifications. Responsible for the writing, approval and implementation of Incoming, In-Process and Final Inspection procedures and operator self-inspection procedures.
Works with other Quality Engineers and the Metrology Lab personnel on the development of all product gaging.
Participates as a trainer in Quality Assurance and Manufacturing employee training programs.
Works with suppliers, management, Engineers and Manufacturing associates in the resolution of quality problems. Also, assists each of these groups with capability studies and the application of statistical quality control.
Interfaces with Manufacturing Engineers to review processes for new products and coordinate process validations and capability studies. Recommends process monitoring devices where applicable.
Assists with complaint investigation and documentation interfaces with Regulatory Affairs to support UL, IEC, and FDA submissions. Participates in internal audits conducted by internal employees and regulatory agencies.

Controls Engineer-Level B

We are seeking a Controls Engineer in our Lawrence, MA facility to develop algorithms for closed loop control of grid connected inverters and develop drivers and API’s used to communicate with peripherals and external subsystems. In this role, you will implement algorithms to detect abnormal conditions, develop computer simulations and work with the sales teams to understand and implement customer requirements. Additionally, you will integrate code from fellow developers and work with the entire engineering team to ensure successful overall integration with of each product.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors or Masters in Electrical, Computer or Software engineering with 2 or more years of experience in developing applications and device drivers for embedded systems and designing closed loop systems. You should have a solid foundation of developing and understanding code written in C or C++ as well as experience working with peripherals and communications protocols such as, SPI or Modbus.

Computer Vision Engineer – Vision Sensor Algorithms
